Self-Test Circuitry
The FEM-T contains a control/monitor circuit that will perform a 30-second discharge test once a month, and a full discharge test once a year. The self-test simulates an AC power failure, and automatically switches to emergency mode. During routine testing, the unit will monitor the operation of the LED load, battery voltage, and emergency power duration. If any issues are detected, the charge indicator will flash rapidly.
Indicator Light Normal Operation
• Normal AC Operation: Indicator light solid
• Emergency Operation: Indicator light flashes slowly (on for 2 seconds, off for 2 seconds)
• Failure: indicator light flashes quickly (on for 0.2 seconds, off for 0.2 seconds)
Test Procedure
• In AC operation, press the test switch or the A button on the Remote once to test emergency operation for 30 seconds.
• In AC operation, press the test switch or the A button on the Remote twice within 2 seconds for emergency operation until the battery is fully discharged.
• During emergency operation, press the test switch once or the A button on the Remote to discontinue emergency operation and shut the fixture down. The indicator light will go out.
Code Matching
• NOTE: FEM-T units which are not being paired or added to a remote must be disconnected from AC Power and reconnected before pairing.
• Code Matching (achieved using Button B on the remote) is necessary for pairing one or more FEM-T Battery Packs to the FEM-T-R remote(s). This procedure is done by ensuring the FEM-T units are powered and within reception distance of the Remote (100 feet), clearing/resetting codes, and then pairing the powered Remote with the FEM-T units.
• Please refer to the FEM-T installation instructions for the full pairing procedure.
